Mini Makeovers!!

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA. I have been so busy setting up my room and getting things ready. It's almost done!! I have been plotting all summer what to do with my room this year, and it's coming along pretty well. Anyways, in the midst of setting up I've come up with a couple of simple ways to give some of my stuff mini makeovers.

So the first thing I did was jazz up my plain black bookshelves. It was easy as pie!! ;) It literally took no more than 10-15 minutes each. All I did was take the backing off and hot glue a piece of some cute polka dot table cloth that I found on clearance at CVS, Oh Yeah!!!

Something so simple made such a huge difference!! Isn't she cute?

The next thing I did was take some simple black and white labels. Now this is just a sample so please don't mind the faded black ink. (Reminder: Time to refill the toner.) I laminated it and used Neon Dry Erase Paint Markers. Check out how cool these are. They are so vibrant over the black!! Awesome. I already printed out a bunch of these labels and they are ready to laminate. Yes, I refilled the toner! I am going to definitely use these in my room. I am always changing stuff out so this works out perfect, all I have to do is ERASE!!
These are the Neon Dry Erase Paint Markers that I bought at Wal-Mart. Grab yours here.

Finally, I dolled up my Plain Jane Wooden Clothespins. I designed some decorative strips for my clothespins. I will upload the file soon for you to download!

The easiest way to do this is to just get your hands dirty. Using my finger I spread a thin layer of glue over the clothespin, then I laid on the strip and applied another layer of glue. This will cause it to harden and they won't peel off.

I also included numbered pins because I use the number system in my room versus writing each students name on everything. I just printed these on colored paper. No color printer needed!

Well, there you have it, simple mini makeovers to dress up plain things in your classroom. If you like these ideas pin em' for others to see!

Science Interactive Notebook!!

Hello all!! So summer will soon be coming to an end, and I still feel like I have a millions things on my TO-DO-BEFRORE-I-GO-BACK-TO-SCHOOL list. I am juggling my children, cleaning my house, printing, laminating, and now my handy dandy blog! I have also been going through some of my products on TPT and updating them with new clip art and font. Now that my products are updated, I thought I'd blog about em'!

So I started a series of interactive notebooks. I love interactive notebooks because they serve a great purpose! I get so tired of boring worksheets. They will not only add more fun to your curriculum, but will also serve as a portfolio of your student's work. Do you ever have problems with students loosing their work or misplacing worksheets? "I do!!" Not anymore, now you can have all your student's work in one interactive journal. This is great for students to reference back, for parent-teacher conferences, and a great memento to take home at the end of the year!

I set up the observation and science experiments at our Science Station. This is where my students will complete their activities and fill in their data.

My series of notebooks include: Science, Grammar, and a Reader's Notebook (reading comprehension strategies). I am currently working on a series of Social Studies Thematic Interactive Notebooks. This set will be in monthly units. I will definitely let you guys know when I release that product!

I HAVE UPDATED THE FONT AND CLIPART OF THIS NOTEBOOK!

These are data sheets that go with our five senses experiments.

Here students are exploring properties of matter. I give them objects to observe and sort through.
