So the first thing I did was jazz up my plain black bookshelves. It was easy as pie!! ;) It literally took no more than 10-15 minutes each. All I did was take the backing off and hot glue a piece of some cute polka dot table cloth that I found on clearance at CVS, Oh Yeah!!!
Something so simple made such a huge difference!! Isn't she cute?
The next thing I did was take some simple black and white labels. Now this is just a sample so please don't mind the faded black ink. (Reminder: Time to refill the toner.) I laminated it and used Neon Dry Erase Paint Markers. Check out how cool these are. They are so vibrant over the black!! Awesome. I already printed out a bunch of these labels and they are ready to laminate. Yes, I refilled the toner! I am going to definitely use these in my room. I am always changing stuff out so this works out perfect, all I have to do is ERASE!!
These are the Neon Dry Erase Paint Markers that I bought at Wal-Mart. Grab yours here.
Finally, I dolled up my Plain Jane Wooden Clothespins. I designed some decorative strips for my clothespins. I will upload the file soon for you to download!
The easiest way to do this is to just get your hands dirty. Using my finger I spread a thin layer of glue over the clothespin, then I laid on the strip and applied another layer of glue. This will cause it to harden and they won't peel off.
I also included numbered pins because I use the number system in my room versus writing each students name on everything. I just printed these on colored paper. No color printer needed!
Well, there you have it, simple mini makeovers to dress up plain things in your classroom. If you like these ideas pin em' for others to see!
